History and Family

One castle, one family, eight centuries of history

The Castello San Salvatore, founded in 1245 by Rambaldo VIII di Collalto, was established as a military stronghold and became the heart of the County of Collalto, one of the largest in Italy. Over the centuries, it was transformed from a defensive structure into a noble residence and an administrative and cultural center. Between the 16th and 18th centuries, it served as a prestigious summer residence and a venue for official representation. Severely damaged during the First World War, it was rebuilt by Count Odoardo Collalto. Today, thanks to the Collalto family, the castle is one of the best-preserved in Veneto, a symbol of historical memory and an active cultural and entrepreneurial project.

The present, with a gaze toward the future

The heir to this historic and prestigious tradition is Princess Isabella Collalto de Croÿ, the eldest daughter of Prince Manfredo and Princess Trinidad di Collalto, who has personally managed the Conte Collalto winery since 2007 and Castello San Salvatore since 2018.

Under her direction, the castle has reopened to the public, hosting private events, weddings, corporate appointments, and cultural initiatives, always in harmony with the venue.

“This residence is part of our history, but also of our present.
Opening it with respect and authenticity is the best way to bring it to life.”
